Parent Participation Committee (PPO)
The decision to have a
Parent Participation Organization is made at the Annual Parent General Assembly.
This PPO is composed of
parents. The main role of the PPO is to promote collaboration of parents in
developing, implementing and periodically evaluate the school's educational
project. The PPO provides a forum for parents to share ideas.
Our PPO has been involved
in organizing many activities, which have enriched our school.
Volunteers
Parent volunteers are involved in virtually every aspect of school life at Boucherville,
At the beginning of every year a letter is sent home requesting volunteers. We
are hoping to enlist as many parent volunteers as possible this year.
Areas of need
Field trips and special events. We will need parents who can accompany
students on field trips or who can assist a class during special school
events.
Fund Raising
Many of the special programs and events taking place at Boucherville School
are made possible by funds collected through fund raising. Some of the fund
raising events being considered this year are:
Osh Kosh Sale
Regal Catalogue
Scholastic book fair
Chocolate drive
Hot dog \ Pizza days
Library
The library volunteers assist with the running of our library. They check
books in and out, assist with new orders and make the library a fun place to
go. We also need people 4-5 times a year who can help with book repairs.
in-School Programs
Help with reading and recreational skills;
Tutors for students new to the school and who speak no or very little
English;
And more;
